Brand Identity & Positioning

Advance Grow Labs was one of the first companies to secure a license to grow cannabis for medical applications in Connecticut. When rumors in legislation started to swirl about passing recreational legalization, AGL came to us to create a consumer-facing brand and positioning. The first step was to update their logo and create a brand identity and positioning of a recreational line variant that reflected the lifestyle of the recreational cannabis user. life aglow describes the state of mind that this product brings to users’ everyday life. And at the center of life aglow is AGL.

Part of their business plan was acquisition and expansion into surrounding states. They asked for a modular sub-brand that could work from state to state, medical or recreational. We came up with Massachusetts Leaf Co. A Great State to Be In and A State of Well-Being described the recreational and medical distinctions of the brand respectively.

Then, AGL needed to create subsidiary brands for intrastate expansion.

Many of the hurdles with legalization for medical and recreational cannabis happen because the cultivation and dispensary sales must be contained within that state. We then came up with a solution to templatize this to any state they may intend to expand into.

Dispensing State Pride

We proposed AGL invest locally and give back to communities. We helped them discover historic buildings that needed remodeling and when fixed up could be turned into dispensaries and social gathering places. Remodeling these buildings improved neighborhoods and brought investment money into the communities.
